Do you arrange music or play favorite songs by request?
Al Vento Music recommends checking our lists first to see if the song is in our library. If the song is excluded from our extensive collection, Al Vento Music arranges special requests at $75 each and requires a minimum one month's advance notice.
My best man is a singer. Can he sing with the quartet?
Yes, we will consider accompanying any musician. Our rehearsal time is valuable and we may charge additional fees to accomodate our rehearsal for the guest musician, depending on their level of musicianship.
What equipment do I need to provide your quartet at the event?
Each player requires an armless chair. Stringed instruments require shade and we need to be out of traffic paths. If the event is at night and oudoors, we can bring our own lights, but need electrical outlets within 10-15 feet.
How do I choose an ensemble?
Al Vento Music specializes in string ensembles. The string quartet (consisting of two violins, viola and cellos) offers the largest and most varied repertoire, while offering the most balanced and structured sound. String trios and duos feature violins, violas and cellos in combination. Occasionally, a flute, trumpet, harp or solo voice performs with string quartet for fanfares and ceremonial flair during weddings. For the largest repertoire and fullest sound, The Al Vento String Quartet is highly recommended.
How many musicians do I hire?
The answer depends on how much space you have for the event and budget. The average bride hires a string quartet, trio or duo, while the host of a corporate event may hire a chamber symphony of 12 musicians.
